You may ask yourself why my kittens are £400 for a pet when you have seen them advertised in your local paper for much less. Let’s look at what I offer you compared to the Back Yard Breeders offering Ragdolls for less.
1. My kittens are GCCF registered ensuring that you have bought a pedigree cat. My kittens leave with a four generation pedigree. 2. My kittens have had all their vaccinations, full health check, wormed, precautionary flea treatment. 3. My kittens have been brought up in my home and leave me well socialised, handled and full of confidence after being loved and cherished by myself and family , since the day they were born. 4. I offer full ongoing support for my kittens and their new owners. I am always on the end of a phone when needed and my commitment to my kittens is eternal. 5. My kittens leave with 4 weeks insurance with Pet Plan. 6. I follow the guidelines set out by the GCCF and the main Ragdoll CAT Clubs of which I am a member. 7. A kitten pack containing toys, bowls, feed samples, litter samples, advice sheets.
Now let’s look at what you get from your local Back Yard Breeder.
1. You don’t get a Ragdoll. Any cat sold unregistered is not a pedigree. You will never know what’s in your cat’s background. 2. You will be sold a kitten, which will not have had its vaccinations let alone a health check and most likely a kitten at six or eight weeks which is too young to be away from it’s mum and litter mates. This results in weak, shy and nervous kittens that haven’t had the chance to become confident and learn all they can from their mummy. 3. You most likely will never hear from the breeder again and will be offered no support or comeback if any thing should go wrong. 4. No insurance. 5. These breeders follow no guidelines and are only in it for a Quick Buck .Why else would they not follow the correct route into breeding?
Now I’m sure there are some good well intending breeders with unregistered cats but at the end of the day it’s a BIG risk you take buying a kitten from them. I have had people come to buy a kitten from me after making the mistake of going to one of these Back Yard Breeders and finding when they get the poor little kitten home they have underlying health problems and are not the cuddly little bundle they thought they were buying due to the lack of handling, love and attention they should have had. These breeders are in it for the money not the love of the cat let alone the breed.
I am an open and honest breeder and pride myself in that.
